Week Commencing 14th March: Three to watch for this week-
Road Closures- Infirmary Road: Blackburn between Bolton Road and Pritchard Street.
Work is allow utilities crossing for new buildings. Diversion will be in force.
Bus services:
D12 service from Darwen/Highercroft to Blackburn will divert along Park Lee Road, Lyndhurst Road, Rockcliffe Street and Grimshaw Park.Services to Darwen from Blackburn are unaffected.
Outer Circle 5A will remain mainly unaffected with a slight diversion from Bolton Road via Longshaw Lane instead of Infirmary Road.
The 5C however will be much more of a diversion. From Highercroft, this will use Park Lee Road, Brandy House Brow, Grimshaw Park to get to Bolton Road, then up to Old Infirmary to get on route. Work is to last until Friday.
Road Closure- Roman Road, Darwen: Between Crown and Thistle and Round Barn. The work is off peak, 9am to 4pm and a long diversion will be in place so please allow extra time.
Bus Services:
37/37A, TA1 and TA2, all journeys that would operate via Roman Road will travel via Bolton Road to Green Arms Road, Chapeltown then to Edgworth. service 37 will use the Broadhead Rd/Moorside Road as a loop to turn round and return as it went out.
School Services: As this is off peak, it will not affect morning journeys. However, pm journeys will be revised slightly. From Turton High, one of the two buses will take all pupils who live on the Edgworth side of the closure whilst the other bus will take those on the Darwen side, doing part of the route in reverse.
Caon Slade School. The 981 is th only one affected so this will travel to Edgworth dropping off all those on the Edgworth side of the closure. It will then travel to Darwen via Green Arms Road and take the pupils on the other side of the closure to their alighting points. This work is planned to last approximately three days.
Temporary Traffic Lights- Blakewater Road, Blackburn:
2 way Temporary lights will be in place on Blakewater Road, close to Challenge way so please allow a little extra time for your journey. Work is planned for a couple of weeks but could be completed sooner.
