We have been informed that Heys Lane in Blackburn will close from Monday 13th July to investigate some subsidence that has appeared. Depending on what the investigation finds will determine how long the road is closed, but we they anticipate one week.
The closure is just below the Leyburn Road mini-roundabout, so access for residents up that point from Livesey Branch Road will be maintained. Access to Leyburn Road will be via Parklands Way or from the Bog Height Road side of Heys Lane.
Bus services 4, 4A and 223 will be affected. Services 4 and 4A will not be able to serve Parklands Way, Leyburn Road or Heys Lane. Their diversion route will be...
From Mill Hill Station, normal route to top of Green Lane, then Livesey Branch Road to Moorgate Street, New Wellington Street and New Chapel Street back to Mill Hill.
Those who would normally catch the bus to Blackburn at Livesey Branch Road, Green Lane, Brother Street or Shorrock Lane will need to use the bus stops on the other side of the road as it will only operate in the one direction during the closure.
we regret that as there is nowhere safe to turn buses around, passengers for Parklands Way, Leyburn Road or Heys Lane will need to make their way to Livesey Branch Road for the service.
Service 223 Blackburn to Belmont will operate from Ewood via Cravens Brow and Bog Height Road, then back on route at Tockholes Road.
Service 5A and 5C Outer circle will not be affected.
Should the work finish earlier, we will ensure services will be back on route as soon as possible.
