Wayoh Bridge Closure

Wayoh Bridge on Roman Road, Edgworth will be closed between 9.30am and 3.30pm in order to carry out resurfacing work.

The closure takes effect from Monday 2nd March until the 6th March.

The diversion route is likely to be quite substantial for most users.

For cars or light vehicles, there are 2 options...

Option 1: Hoddlesden Road, Pickup Bank and Broadhead Road to Crowthorne 

Option 2: By way of the A666 and Green Arms Road to Chapeltown and Edgworth.

Options 1 & 2 are only suitable for cars and not suitable for larger vehicles or HGV's.

For Larger vehicles or HGV's, please note there are several low bridges that are around the perimeter of Edgworth and Chapeltown so your ultimate destination will determine which route you need.

A666 towards Bolton. B6472 Turton Road, Bromley Cross Road. There are two possible bridges that may impede you. One on Chapeltown Road between Bromley Cross and Edgworth witha limit of 13'.6".The other is on Darwen Road near Chapeltown Road.

An alternative if requiring Edgworth or Bury is, The Grane Road, B6232, Then Jackson Heights Road and Broadhead Road. passable with care.
