Maundy Thursday, Royal Visit

Thursday 17th April sees Her Majesty The Queen visit Blackburn to hand out this years Maundy Money.

As you can imagine, Blackburn is likely to be very busy so please arrive early. There will be some disruption in the town centre, so unless you are coming to try and catch a glimpse of Her Majesty, please navigate around the town centre using either the inner or the outer ring roads, Many streets within the town centre will close from 6am and remain closed until approximately 1pm.

Bus services are operating normally, but some routes are being diverted around the centre, so there may be a slight disruption to the timetables on some routes. Some bus stops within the town centre therefore will not be served, however the bus station off Brown Street will remain operational throughout the event.
